Wallace Marsh: Thomasville Mediator to Speak on Local History

Wallace Marsh

The friends and clients of the Georgia Center for Arbitration and Mediation know that Wallace Marsh is one of our most-sought after mediators. He is a problem-solver with a background in conflict resolution. He is an Episcopal priest with a lifetime of education and experience in business and corporate governance, as well as family and employee disputes. He is a Georgia Registered Arbitrator and Mediator.  He is a wonderful husband and father. But he is so much more!

On September 17, 2024, Wallace will be lecturing at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Thomasville, Georgia on a fascinating topic fraught with history, Presidential politics, race relations, and intrigue. His topic will be Fr. Christopher LaRoche, the founding priest of St. Thomas.  After a great deal of personal research, Wallace will share his insights on this man who, in addition to founding St. Thomas, also founded the separate, predominately black church called Church of the Good Shepard in Thomasville. Wallace believes that LaRoche may be the one most important figures in Thomasville’s rich history (and that is saying a lot!).

LaRoche moved to Thomasville when this part of Georgia was the ultimate resort destination of many of America’s Gilded Age Families. LaRoche built the beautiful St. Thomas church which includes some original windows from Louis Comfort Tiffany. During his tenure, William McKinley visited Thomasville, and it was from a local “winter cottage” that he announced his nomination to run for President of the United States of America.

The event is sponsored by the Thomasville History Center. It is free and open to anyone. The doors open at 7:00 on September 17 so visitors have an opportunity to walk around the amazing church and its stained glass. There will be light refreshments after the lecture. If you haven’t met Wallace, it is a wonderful opportunity to meet one of the most gifted mediators in Georgia. For more information, please click here > >

General Civil Mediation in Georgia:

Wallace is veteran priest with decades of conflict-resolution, but his experience in business, real estate, and abilities give him an unusual benefit higher than your “typical” mediator.  His biography is very diverse with a lot of real world business experience. Plus, he is level-headed, calm, and very smart.  He was graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South and went to graduate school at Yale University. He understands people, he understands their problems, and he can help bring consensus to your problems.

Arbitration in Georgia:

Wallace is a registered arbitrator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. Although this certification is not required, it shows that Wallace possesses professionalism, the highest levels of training for ADR, and has taken every step suggested by the State of Georgia to bring success as an arbitrator in Georgia. Whereas mediation requires consensus between the parties, arbitration requires a decision maker to review the facts, weigh the evidence, determine fault and damages (if any). Wallace’s experience shows that he listens extremely well, and he does not offer his opinion or render a decision lightly. He is fair minded, and wants to offer those with legal problems a viable alternative to the traditional means of going before a judge or a jury.

On-Line ADR Services Offered:

Wallace’s reputation is wide. He has lived up and down the East Coast; he spent a great part of his life in Atlanta. If you need Wallace to mediate or arbitrate your dispute, he is available for travel to you. In addition, he can offer virtual mediation sessions and virtual arbitration sessions through our on-line platform.
