Bio

For more than 25 years, Mark has been practicing construction law throughout the Southeast. His studies in economics, political science, and English taught him critical thinking and communication skills which allow him to creatively and effectively analyze complex business situations. Nonetheless, Mark takes a personal pleasure in dispute resolution. As a seasoned professional, he understands the nature of particular subject matters, as well as the goals, interests, and needs of the clients.

Mark is a certified mediator and arbitrator and uses his problem solving abilities as an advocate for his clients and as a third-party neutral to serve a variety of people and resolve conflicts. In recent years, Mark has identified the growing need for alternative dispute resolution services within our local community and state. He approaches each client’s engagement with empathy, and works hard to find solutions to clients’ problems. Specifically, Mark understands the business decisions facing the construction industry. With increasingly tighter margins, he understands the need for intentionality and impartiality in both his law practice, as well as his role as a neutral.

Throughout college, Mark was molded by his various jobs and educational experiences. In retrospect, his concepts on honesty and integrity were tested and strengthened in the most remarkable ways. After law school, he performed varying research and litigation tasks, while quickly excelling in the area of Georgia construction law. Since opening his own firm, he has approached the state-wide practice of construction law with avidity and tenacity.

Mark is married and has two children, and an English setter. His family are active members of All Saints Episcopal Church. Mark serves as treasurer for the Southern Regional Technical College Foundation and is the former chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Vashti Center which operates a $4M annual budget for children with psychological and psychiatric issues. He is also the treasurer and immediate past-president of the local Washington and Lee Alumni Chapter. In addition, Mark has been very active with nonprofit organizations having recently served on the Board of Directors for the Center of the Arts, and the Thomasville Antique Foundation where he and his wife chaired the Thomasville Antique Show results in the largest amount raised during this four day event. When he is not solving complex disputes, he enjoys tennis, wingshooting and fly-fishing.
