Bio

Barry Selvidge is a certified arbitrator and mediator in the state of Georgia and has extensive experience in successfully resolving complex disputes. Barry’s 35+ years of legal and deal-making know-how provides real-world perspectives which he relies upon to unravel and tackle the thorny issues between parties. His well-honed negotiation skills, paired with perseverance, achieves effective solutions for stakeholders who engage in the dispute resolution process.

Throughout his legal career, Barry has served in a variety of roles including as a member of a multidisciplinary law firm, acting as corporate and in-house counsel for private and public companies, and most recently functioning as Of Counsel for Cobb Law Group. Earlier in his career, Barry served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel for Communications Central, Inc., a $100 million publicly traded company with operations in 42 states. During his tenure, Barry helped direct a successful public offering, managed multiple state acquisitions, negotiated agreements with multinational companies, and advised the Board of Directors on navigating legal risk.

Barry’s extensive business background as a serial entrepreneur and executive leads him to pursue practical and creative solutions for resolving challenging disputes. From riding a backhoe at an early age and working in his father’s commercial construction company, to his hands-on experience as a company founder and operator, Barry’s real-life perspectives provide the foundation from which he works to bring parties together. For example, as founder and President of Prime Point Media, a national outdoor advertising company, he negotiated complicated multi-party agreements, navigated tedious federal and municipal regulatory requirements, and managed the complex transaction process for the company’s sale. Barry earned his bachelor’s degree in communications with highest honors from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and was also awarded the Valedictorian, Tennessee Association of Broadcasters, and Bickel Communications scholarships. He also received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee and has been admitted to practice law in Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.

Barry and his wife Linda have been married for almost 30 years and have two grown children who are both entrepreneurs, along with three grandchildren. As a professional musician, Barry has performed in numerous U.S. and European venues and continues pursuing his love of music as keyboardist and vocalist in a classic rock band.
